What Time Is It? by skygraze What Time Is It? by skygraze
Guys, guess which show have I become addicted to?

Seriously, I think I'm in love with Adventure Time. Its style makes me feel all giddy and happy, it's so quirky and fun and <3

And I don't know why, because this usually isn't my kind of show.

Who am I kidding, it's all about Marceline~<3

Yes. I mean, her daddy ate her fries. how could you not sympathize with her?! XD

Though Lumpy Space Princess is a close second.

Yes! You should draw fanart of Adventure Time. The best thing about it is how simple the style is. It's very easy to replicate, haha.

Ahaha, I don't really makes gifs, I just did this to try out Photoshop's animation feature.

Yeah, you mean all the controversy about the episode preview of What Was Missing, right?

It's kind of sad, because that particular episode was what actually got me into adventure time. Hahaha... ;_;

I think it's all kind of silly. I mean, to take down the video because it implies a homosexual relationship. Really? Then again, there are people lashing out at cartoonnetwork because MxPB was totally meant to be, even though they don't even know if that was the intention of the creator. Honestly, that just makes them come off as pushy and obnoxious.

It's just a very delicate topic, so people are going to behave all offended and defensive about it. Hopefully, someday cartoons will be able to touch the topic without it creating a huge commotion.

By the way, I totally ship MarcelinexPB, so I'll be very sad if the controversy will make the creators avoid subtext from now on

Same here. xD I had finished marathoning Teen Titans and was bored so I started watching Pan Pizza's RebelTaxi99 cartoon reviews. I'd finished watching all his Teen titans reviews so I had a look at the Adventure Time ones and then saw something about 'lesbian undertones' mentioned on there and decided to do some research. I came across the "Mathematical!" controversy and the subject episode. I LOVED the subject episode so I watched more Adventure Time. I've shipped Bubbline ever since. (Not to mention all the voice actors are completely epic. ALL of them. They have lumping Starfire and Bender on there.)

The problem with the recap was not exactly the nature of the relationship itself, it was the fact that the video turned a possible subtext into text, stating Marceline's crush like it was a fact when they didn't know themselves, and the fans thought the show was seeking active fan input. ;n;
But it's terrible that the guy was fired. I suspect that it wouldn't have caused quite so much controversy with a heterosexual.

Did you see their response to a Bubbline question at Comic-Con?

Audience member: "Is there or was there ever a past romantic relationship between Marceline and Princess bubblegum?"
Tom Kenny: "There's a lot of fanfiction on that topic."
Rebecca Sugar (storyboarder and writer of controversial episode): "I don't think it's any of your business."
Tom Kenny: Don't look in the Princess's bedrooms!

All those lines recieved excitement from the audience. It seems that they are treating it as a mature topic, exactly as if he'd asked if they'd been getting it on in the castle rather than if they'd dated, but it wasn't denied. Pen didn't say anything on it.
But the brilliant news is that it wasn't denied.
Bubbline is perhaps the most well-supported pairing on the show and it certainly makes the most sense. I don't expect them to ever mention it outright... because this world fucking sucks and they'd get carbombed by neo-Nazis... but if they subtly give us hints to confirm Bubbline's canonical history then I will be incredibly proud of this show.

Yes, I especially think Marceline's voice actor takes a big part in what makes her character so loved, haha.

To be honest, I don't think it would have been controversial at all had it dealt with a heterosexual relationship.

Whoa, I didn't know about the Comic-Con thing. Why do I never find out about these things >:C

Maybe the staff is trying to remain impartial about the whole deal. But really, the fact that it wasn't denied speaks louder than everything else.

I'm pleasantly surprised by all the support bubbline has received. It's really rare for the fan-favorite couple to be two girls, especially if said girls aren't even the main character. It makes me happy and kind of proud. Sadly, the detractors are very vocal.

It's really funny (in a very sad, twisted way) how even thinking about having a homosexual relationship in a cartoon makes the media watchdogs go batshit insane, but the possibility of a relationship between a 12 year old kid and an 18 year old woman doesn't make them even bat an eyelash. It's really messed up, dude.

INCREDIBLY messed up.
I think Bubbline is pretty much set in the fan-canon now, what with this Scream Queens comic being a shipper's dream. xD I really hope there aren't any romantic interests introduced into that one for either of our two main girls. I sense that Guy will try flirting with PB or something... but I also sense that she'll despise him so that's okay.
Some other things that Comic-Con told us is that the Dr. Princess/Betty theory is untrue (people thought they were the same person) and that Ice King probably won't be seeing any permanent romantic interests at all.

Hell yeah, Marceline and the Scream Queens. I can't wait for the next issue. C:
Haha, I don't think they would introduce actual romantic interest for the girls in a side-comic. XD

Ah, Ice King. I always felt for him, even without knowing his backstory. He's just so :iconforeveraloneplz:

I wrote a huge blog on the Ice King: [link]
That saves me from writing a wall of text on this comment about him which I undoubtable would have done. He's just such a desperate and tragic character it's unbelievable.
Have you seen the latest "Burning Low" preview? [link]
I nearly panicked when I saw it at first but now I'm calming down. Stupid Fubblegum... well, I think it's a "Ricardio The Heart Guy" situation of Jake's misinterpretation, but the episode will focus on PB's perspective of FPxFinn and why she thinks it shouldn't happen. But in that end picture she looks pretty angsty on her bed there.
